Astral Projection

This piece is a visualization of a spiritual phenomenon called “astral projection”, also known as an “out-of-body experience”, in which a human separates from their physical body.
Astral travelers are said to experience exploring the “astral realm” where they are free to visit any place on Earth and beyond this dimension. This takes practice and patience and people who may attempt to try should be mindful and well researched on the topic.

Denuclearization

This piece titled “Denuclearization” is based on alleged military encounters with UFOs that have disabled military weapons, specifically at nuclear bases.
An excerpt from an article on this subject:
“He said there was a large glowing, pulsating red oval-shaped object hovering over the front gate,” according to Salas’ affidavit. As he woke his commander, he claims alarms went off showing nearly all 10 missiles shown in the control room had been disabled.

I started the drawing back in August 2019 using @strathmoreart toned gray paper and @prismacolor colored pencils. I had the idea to make it move so I put it into @photoshop and began blurring, transforming, and keyframing each piece. The sketchbook tracking was done in After Effects..
I almost posted this 4 different times throughout this entire process, but i’m so glad I didn’t. This piece showed me that I am a patient perfectionist. This piece has also showed me that there’s no such thing as perfect.
